Here's what we were working with - two side yard gates that had seen better days. The wood was weathered gray, sections were sagging, and there was patching that just wasn't holding up anymore. It's a pretty common situation for homeowners in the area. Wood gates take a beating over the years, and at some point a quick fix stops being enough.
What this customer needed wasn't another band-aid repair. They needed gates that were actually built solid. So that's what we did. We pulled out the worn sections and built two new gates from fresh lumber, framed properly and hung with heavy-duty black strap hinges that can handle real daily use.
The difference is pretty hard to miss. Fresh-cut boards, a clean stained finish, and hardware that actually matches and functions the way it should. The latch hardware on both gates is fitted and secure - no more wrestling with a gate just to get in and out of your own yard.
We do a lot of gate work alongside our overhead door installs, and honestly the approach is the same either way - build it right the first time so it doesn't become a repeat problem. A gate that sags, sticks, or falls apart isn't just frustrating, it's a security issue. Getting it done properly matters.
